Mathias Frederiksen PhD is a Principal at the Novartis Venture Fund in Basel, Switzerland. Prior to joining NVF, he was group leader in Novartis R&D. His broad experience spans many disciplines, including neuroscience-focused medicinal chemistry, chemical genomics, and target discovery, with emphasis on unraveling epigenetic dysregulation in disease. He was a member of the portfolio management and strategy team and played a pivotal role in numerous open innovation projects. Mathias earned a BSc in Chemistry from Mount Allison University, Canada, a PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College, UK, and a postdoctorate at Stanford University.
